In a recent interview with It was a little over a month ago that we learned about the merger of Bugatti and Rimac, underneath the Porsche umbrella.,->https://www.motortrend.com/news/mate-rimac-bugatti-ceo-future-cars/ Mate Rimac gave us an idea about the future path of the renowned French automaker, Bugatti. According to Rimac, one thing is for certain: it will be distinct from what has been seen thus far.

Mate Rimac is the current CEO of Bugatti-Rimac. His company controls 55-percent of it, while Porsche, which expanded its share in Rimac Automobili by 24-percent, owns the remaining 45-percent. Rimac was an essential name in this process because he will lead both the electric company he formed and the mythical supercar enterprise at the same time. (Rimac Group)

Mate Rimac has already begun to draw the future of Bugatti, which will be under his command later this year.

However, Rimac allows his imagination to run wild, explaining that the possibilities are pretty much limitless. And he indicates that they might do something completely out of the ordinary.

Rimac primarily develops technologies for electric vehicles, such as batteries, for companies such as Koenigsegg and Pininfarina, which has used the Rimac Nevera's motor and battery technology in its Battista. With that, Mate is now in charge of the 112-year-old brand with enormous prestige and even higher customer expectations.

Rimac is also the brains behind the Nevera. The brand’s expertise in electro-mobility has attracted investment from several mainstream automakers, including Porsche, Hyundai, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes Benz. As a result, for the first time, the Volkswagen Group is now handing over control of one of its brands to an "external" CEO.

The historic Bugatti brand has been losing money since its reintroduction under the Volkswagen Group in the 90s.For the Croatian company with barely 1,000 employees, the evolution throughout its 10-year existence has been gigantic. This means that Rimac has not yet been integrated into the Volkswagen world, and it maintains its registered office in the Croatian city of Zagreb, whereas Bugatti maintains its headquarters in Molsheim, France.

In general, the company will continue to produce automobiles on a limited scale and only one model at a time, allowing the two companies to separate themselves. Today, the challenges are enormous and come with commitments that are tied to the agendas of other brands as well.

For the time being, the French brand's ambitions are to expand and broaden its offering, but this does not imply that Rimac will follow suit. Bugatti will also have two new models built by Rimac by 2030. One will be a hybrid, while the other will be a fully electric vehicle.

Furthermore, Mate Rimac claims that by doing so, they will be able to focus on creating an entirely new model from the preceding one each time. At present, the successor to the Chiron is one of the first new cars that can be expected. Bugatti will also have two new models built by Rimac by 2030. One will be a hybrid, while the other will be a fully electric vehicle.

For the world of today, and especially the world of the future, it is up to visionaries and courageous individuals who are willing to take calculated risks and bear the consequences. This "breed" of entrepreneurs includes the likes of individuals like Elon Musk and Mate Rimac. It requires such a visionary to carve out a future that is worthy of the brand as prestigious and renowned as Bugatti.
