German tuner G-Power has put some serious work in on various BMWs over the years, and the Hurricane brand has been the epitome of power. Now, G-Power has given the BMW M8 the Hurricane treatment and the stock output of 625 horsepower is a joke in comparison. We’re even willing to bet the G-Power M8 can hit 60 mph in less than three seconds.

What Is The BMW G8M Hurricane RR?

We’ll start at the most important part: the performance upgrades. G-Power offers two levels of tune for the already awesome BMW M8. and it doesn’t matter which M8 you have – they’ll tune the M8 Coupe, M8 Convertible, and even the M8 Gran Coupe.

How Does G-Power Make So Much Extra Power Out of the M8?

G-power hasn’t revealed much in terms of performance specs, but claims that the M8 Hurricane RR can hit a top speed of 340 km/h or 211 mph – 21 mph faster than the M8 with the optional M Driver’s package. As far as sprints go, getting to 60 mph in less than three seconds isn’t exactly out of the question.

Q: How Does G-Power Make So Much Extra Power Out of the M8?

G-Power’s M8 upgrade starts with upgraded turbochargers and larger intakes. They follow up with a new exhaust system with sport catalytic converters and CNC-milled housings. To top things off, the engine is fitted with forged pistons, modified connecting rods, and a modified cooling package to keep everything within thermal parameters. {{The transmission has also been upgraded to handle the extra power, and the suspension has been lowered via adjustable coilovers - the latter of which should improve handling under pressure of all that extra power.}}

Naturally, there’s a new set of custom wheels. There are two sets to choose from, too. {{Mixed-performance tires come into play here, with the fronts measuring 285/30ZR21 and the rears coming in at 295/30ZR21.}} The rest of the exterior is wrapped in G-Powers typical orange wrap while the carbon fiber hood features real vents to help aid in cooling. The carbon rear wing is an option, but is recommended for the addition downforce in the rear and, in tandem, better traction.
