Brooks from the Drag Times YouTube Channel put out a video of an F8 Tributo taking on a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S in a couple of Quarter-Mile passes. It’s not the first time that these two potent exotic’s have come together, but I really am curious to see as to how well a stock Ferrari F8 fares against a tuned Porsche. The showdown took place at the Atco Dragway in New Jersey.

2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo

In the white corner, we have a bone-stock 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo. The Ferrari tips the scales at 3,450 pounds. The F8 has a sticker price of $339,000.

2019 Porsche 911 Turbo S

In the black corner, we have a 2019 991.2 Porsche 911 Turbo S with the ES850 package from AIM Performance. The Porsche weighs 3,527 pounds and costs $230,000. With the number’s out of the way, let’s race.

Race 1

Both cars pull a couple of 11’s to put some heat into the rubber and line up for launch. The lights turn green and the driver of the Porsche has a poor RT (Reaction Time) and the race was pretty much over, right there, because the Ferrari was ahead pretty much all the way to the finish line. Although the Ferrari did cross the line first, looking at the quarter-mile times tells a different story. The Porsche managed 10.18 seconds at 145 mph, while the Ferrari clocked in 10.26 seconds at 137.11 mph.

Race 2

On the second pass, the hammer drops and the F8’s driver had a poor RT. The Porsche’s launch was spot-on and it pulled hard and stayed in the lead, all the way to the quarter-mile. This time around, the AWD Porsche did a sub-10 second time of 9.98 seconds at 145.23 mph, while the F8 managed a time of 10.45 seconds at 135.48 mph.

Race 3

The drivers of both cars had a poor RT in the first two races. Let's see what happens in this third and final race. The cars line up once again at the line. The hammer drops, and both cars get a perfect launch this time around. The Turbo S crept ahead, but the Ferrari still managed to keep up, however, by the halfway mark the Porsche started to pull away from the Tributo and it eventually took the win. The Porsche clocked in a time of 10.51 seconds at 144.40 mph, while the Ferrari managed 10.33 seconds at 137.48 mph.

To Sum It Up

So an overall victory then for this tuned Porsche. But I have come away surprised with how good the F8 fared as well, considering it is completely stock, straight from the factory, and only sends power to the rear, unlike the Porsche which has AWD traction and 100 more horses.
