Naturally electric vehicles are heavier than combustion-powered vehicles due to the added weight of the battery. Take the Taycan for example, Porsche's electric sedan has a weight in the 2,140 - 2,350 kilo (4,717 - 5,081 pounds). If that doesn’t sound like much to you, think that a Ram 1500 pickup truck has a weight of 4,798 pounds! Porsche managed to compensate for the extra weight with more power, but the Taycan is still on the high side of the fat scale.

With electric cars taking over the market, you will see more and more tuners trying to improve the look, output, and range. Take the Taycan for example, just recently it received an impressive upgrade from Brabus. The question is: how can you make an electric car lighter, while still keeping its performance figures? The guys over Jager might have the answer for you. They have more than 10 years of experience in making their customers' cars even more elegant and sportier, so why not lighter too?

Jager's upgrade consist of an exterior package made from carbon fiber. Pretty much every exterior part of the Taycan was modified. It started by adding a new hood and continued with new front fenders and side skirts. Both the front and the rear apron received the same treatment, and so did the rear spoiler. Even the frunk has been upgraded with rear carbon. And from the big parts, the tuner went to little parts: the mirror caps, both tank nozzles and the front and rear door handles are also made from carbon fiber. As a final touch the Jager's Taycan will ride on a new set of exclusive in-house built forged wheels, sized 9.5x21 up front and 11.5x21 in the rear.

After all these updates, the Taycan's weight was lowered by about 45 kilos - roughly 100 pounds. While it may not seem a lot, Jager claims it will improve both the efficiency and the performance.

There are no changes made to the powertrain, but that's fine, since the Taycan is a very powerful EV from factory. It is powered by two electric motors - one mounted on the front axle and the other one incorporated in the two-speed transmission. They deliver a total of 616 horsepower, or 670 horsepower with overboost in the Taycan Turbo and 750 horsepower in the Turbo S version. Porsche is also offering a 4S version that delivers 530 horsepower and a 4S Performance Plus with 571 horsepower.
