The Chevrolet Corvette C8 is still one of the hottest sports cars, currently on sale. Demand is so high, GM is having trouble keeping up. The same could be true with the recently unveiled 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06, as information about the prices has finally leaked. Spoiler alert: like the regular C8, it’s shaping up to be a performance car bargain.

When it came out, the regular C8 Corvette looked like a Ferrari and went like it. The first mid-engine production Corvette managed a 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time of 2.9 seconds and was closing in on the 200 mph (322 km/h) mark, for under $60,000 starting price.

We already know that the C8 Z06 is powered by a 5.5-liter, normally-aspirated LT6 V-8 that comes straight from the Corvette C8 R race car. The engine features a flat-plane crankshaft, allowing it to rev up to 8,600 RPM while sounding like a Ferrari. This is also the first DOHC engine used in Corvette since the C4 ZR-1 boat engine. The LT6 unit, powering the C8 Z06 makes 670 horsepower at 8,400 RPM and 460 pound-feet (624 Nm). The gearbox remains an eight-speed automatic.

Pricing And Options

We say supercar because, while the regular C8 was closing in on 200 mph (322 km/h) with regards to top speed, the C8 Z06’s extra power would surely allow it to break the 200 mph mark. What you may be wondering about is the options’ pricing, which is expected to remain relatively similar to the regular C8. But just how much over $86,995 price tag can the C8 Z06 go?

With the regular C8, the convertible cost $7,500 extra, while the 2LZ and 3LZ packages cost $3,270 and $8,650 respectively. Again, referring to the regular C8 options’ price, the Z07 package costs an additional $7,995 and if you want the exposed carbon fiber ground effects, that’s another $3,995, and for the competition seats – an additional $995.

Level one carbon-fiber interior package would still cost $1,500, while Level two is expected to cost around $3,000. Add the engine appearance package, which in the Z06 includes a carbon-fiber engine cover, which is another $1,990 and the total price can reach $114,625.

With the C8 Z06, you get the front carbon-fiber lip spoiler and magnetic ride control, as standard. However, the most expensive option will be the carbon-fiber wheels. While some sources claim the option would cost around $20,000, the channel’s host speculates that the actual price is more likely to be around $10,000, but only if you already have the Z07 package. After everything we just said, we can expect that the most expensive Corvette C8 Z06 would top out somewhere between $130,000 and $140,000.

Moreover, the Corvette name also boasts a great racing heritage, while being relatively attainable.
