Reservations For Subaru's First EV, The Solterra, Are Finally Open... But Only Till February 28

The Solterra will be available in three trims and you can book yours by paying a refundable deposit of $250

Reservations for the Solterra will be open until February 28, and you better act fast as the reservation web page is already posting advisories that there is only limited to even no availability on numerous dealers.

The range kicks off with the Premium, and this gets you the EyeSight suite of advanced driver-assistance tech, blind spot warning, full LED lighting, and 18-inch wheels.

Moving up to the Solterra Limited adds a few upscale exterior features such as foglights, 20-inch wheels, dual liftgate spoilers, and a powered liftgate.

The interior then benefits from heated front and rear seats, StarTex upholstery, heated steering, and a bigger 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This variant also gets wireless charging, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 360-degree camera, and a Harman Kardon sound system.

The top-trim Touring benefits from a panoramic glass roof with retractable sunshade, ventilated front seats, digital rearview mirror, illuminated interior trims, and an optional black contrasting roof.

Whereas its Toyota twin, the bZ4X, can be ordered in front-wheel drive, the Solterra is exclusively four-wheel driven, which means it’s powered by a dual-motor system that produces 218 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque.

Subaru claims a range of more than 220 miles, and the company has also partnered with EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast-charging network for electric vehicles.
