After many test sightings under camouflage, we have a closer look at Audi’s first EV sedan, the A6 E-Tron. It is mainly covered, but the overall design is now more prominent than in previous sightings. After seeing the spy shots ourselves, we instantly realized that the A6 E-Tron is ready for production, but it may not look exactly like the Concept from 2021 Auto Shanghai.

The spy shots from the A6 E-Tron we have here seem to have a lot of aggression compared to the A6 sedan. The electric A6 E-Tron is sharper, but not quite as sharp as the concept model introduced in early 2021. Moreover, the wheel designs are entirely new compared to the last sightings. This time, the wheels are all blacked out with a five-spoke design.

Despite Audi’s claims that the production model will resemble 95-percent of the Concept’s design, we can see that the front fascia is almost, if not entirely changed, except for the upper LED DRLs. In addition, the trapezoidal lower intake grille is bigger and more prominent, along with the narrower brake cooling vents, as opposed to the bigger ones from the Concept.

The tail section of the camouflaged A6 E-Tron is where we can see the significant dissimilarities from the concept model. Gone is the slim and big light bar only to be replaced by more conventional taillights. As for Audi’s record for fakeries on the exterior, the rear diffuser will hardly be accurate to the Concept.

We expect that the 470 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque ratings from the A6 E-Tron Concept will carry over to the production model. While the Q4 E-Tron is built on the MEB platform, the A6 E-Tron is underpinned by the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform. This platform will support a 100-kWh battery pack in the floor.
