Thanks to Toyota, Lexus Could Have a New Baby Crossover In The works

A new, sub-$30,000 Lexus crossover could arrive in Europe, Japan, and Australia by 2023

A new rumor from Japan says the Toyota Yaris Cross will also live life as a Lexus

It could bare the LBX name or the BX name, with the recently trademarked LBX name used on a production-ready concept

The new subcompact Lexus crossover will slot in below the UX and could be priced below $30,000

Like the Yaris Cross, however, it’ll be limited to the European, Japanese, and Australian markets

It will likely have the same hybridized 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine with 90-118 horsepower

While electric motors, either 3.9 kW or 59 kW, will add an extra 5.2-79 HP

Expect the new Lexus crossover to wear the bands current design language in the front and rear

While the interior should feature nicer materials to make it worth of the Lexus name

The production-ready concept could debut in the next year, with the production model arriving for the 2023 model year
