For 2022, the Audi RS3 has a more menacing look and becomes even more capable
The 2022 Audi RS3 looks much sportier and goes like it too
The 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five is still here and produces 394 hp and 369 lb/ft
The US-spec version develops 401 hp - 7 more than the EU cars
The inline-five works with a 7-speed DCT and the Quattro all-wheel-drive system
It also features RS Torque Rear, which is basically a Drift mode
The sprint to 60 mph is dealt with in 3.7 seconds
Top speed is limited to 155 mph, but can go up to 180 mph with Performance pack
The RS3's chassis has been extensively revised for improved stiffness and response
The adaptive suspension is optional, but well worth it
The car has increased camber, whcih improves cornering stability, but increases tire wear
The 2022 Audi RS3 is 1 inch (25mm) lower to the ground than the standard A3
As standard, the RS3 has ventilated steel brake rotors - 375 mm front and 310 mm rear - with six-piston front brake callipers
You can opt for carbon-ceramic front brake rotors and bigger steel rotors in the rear
The new looks are much more aggressive, so the 2022 RS3 will not pass for a sleeper
The big honeycomb grille dominates the front of the RS3. The Matrix LED headlights are optional
The rear bumper mimics the front grille, with a blacked-out trim piece. Sadly, it's not functional
The signature oval exhasut tips sit nicely with the new rear diffuser
Two Y-spoke wheel designs are available. As standard, you get 10-spoke wheels, while the 5-spoke rims are optional
As before, the RS3 is available in two body styles - Sportsback (hatchback) and sedan
But while the RS3 sedan will be sold globally
The RS3 Sportback will not be coming to the US
The RS3's completely redesigned interior is "Lamborghini-inspired" according to some
There's a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Gauge cluster
And next to it, there's a 10.1-inch infotainment screen
Fortunately, you still get physical buttons for quick access
The flat-bottom steering wheel has a 12 o-clock strip and an RS button
The RS3's sport seats feature honeycomb quilting and contrast green or red stitching
Overall, the new Audi RS3 promises to be much more exciting than the outgoing model
In Europe, you're looking at a €60,000 starting price for the Sportback
While you need to prepare €62,000 for the sedan
For the US market, that's the equivalent of $70,832 and $73,193 respectively
The 2022 Audi RS3 goes on sale in August 2021
