The 2022 Ford Expedition Debuts With A Whole Lot Of Upgrades, Including A New Off-Road Trim

Ford has introduced a ton of cosmetic and tech upgrades apart from new ’Timberline’ trim and a ’Stealth Edition’ package

Ford launched the 2022 Expedition with a few cosmetic tweaks, and new trims and packages

Joining the existing lineup is the Timberline trim which makes this the most rugged Expedition ever. Earlier this year, Ford introduced the Timberline on the 2022 Explorer as well

The Timberline comes with a unique grille, Active Orange exterior accents, 18-inch wheels shod in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler AT tires, a ground clearance of 10.6 inches, and the F-150 Raptor’s underbody protection

It is powered by the same 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost engine as the other trims, but makes 440 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a two-speed transfer case and Trail Turn Assist

Ford also introduced a Stealth Edition Performance Package for the Limited and Limited MAX trims. It rides on 22-inch premium black aluminum wheels with red calipers

It offers gloss black treatment on the grille, mirror caps, roof rails, running boards, tailgate, rear bumper skid plate, fog lamp bezels, and headlamp and taillamp housing. The ‘Expedition’, ‘Limited’, and ‘Ford’ badges are also blacked out

It comes with a retuned suspension setup and makes the same power as the Timberline trim - 440 HP and 510 lb-ft of twist

The changes on the other trims include new LED headlights, taillights, and wheel options. The top Platinum trim comes fog lamps with chrome accents and a new twin-spar mesh grille

Inside the cabin, there’s a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch touchscreen system. A larger portrait-oriented 15.5-inch touchscreen is also available.

Apart from this, the SUV can also be had with a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen Unleashed sound system, 360-degree surround camera, etc. Ford has introduced the BlueCruise hands-free highway Driver-Assist technology on the Platinum trim

All the trims are powered by the same 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost engine. In the XL, STX, and the XLT, it makes 380 HP and 470 lb-ft of torque. In the Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trims, it produces 400 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque

The Expedition 2WD equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package can tow up to 9,300 pounds

Prices have not announced, but you can expect a small hike over the 2021 Expedition that starts at $50,595 and goes all the way up to $74,150

The 2022 Expedition will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022. Swipe up to read about it in detail
