The 2022 Ford Maverick Arrives June 8th As an Affordable, Compact Pickup

The Ford Maverick is a compact truck that will be available from fall 2021 and will most likely come with a starting price of under $20,000

Ford has finally confirmed the Maverick's existence and announced that the compact truck will be revealed on June 8 on its social media channels

The company teases the truck in a video and we got to see the rear. The tailgate is stamped with the 'Maverick' branding along with the Blue Oval logo

Ford has roped in actress Gabrielle Union and she will be showing the truck on her Instagram and TikTok account too

So, we’re looking at a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine that makes 181 horses and 190 pound-feet of torque, and a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder mill that dishes out 250 horses and 280 pound-feet of torque

The Maverick will share its underpinning with the Escape, and in all likelihood, even the powertrain options

The 'Maverick' nameplate isn't new as Ford has used on the rebadged Nissan Terrano, Patrol, the Euro-spec Escape, and this 70s model
