The 710-HP Dodge Durango Is Walter White On Weekdays And Heisenberg On Weekends!

The Durango Hellcat shows us that a three-row SUV can be a perfect family SUV and drag strip monster

Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ uploaded another drag race video on his YouTube channel, this time involving the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat and Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat:

It is powered by a 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 mill that generates 710 HP and 645 lb/ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox routes power to all four wheels

Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S:

It comes with a 4.0-liter, bi-turbo V-8 engine under the hood that churns out 603 HP and 627 lb/ft of twist. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system

The Durango weighs 5,334 pounds, whereas the GLE 63 S is slightly heavier at 5,456 pounds. This gives them a power-to-weight ratio of .133 hp/lb and .111 hp/lb, respectively

Drag Race 1 of 2:

The cars were locked in Race/Track modes. When they got off the line, the Durango was slightly ahead, but the GLE 63 S pulled things back and scored a win

Drag Race 2 of 2:

This race was in the same settings, but the result was different. The Durango had a perfect launch this time and got the lead right off the line. The AMG couldn’t catch up with it, thus giving the Durango a win here

Roll Race 1 of 2:

Mark and Sam then took part in a rolling race from 31 mph with the vehicles slot in the Race/Track mode The Durango had a better kickdown, and kept it that to win the race

Roll Race 2 of 2:

They raced once again in the same drive modes. This time, it race was much closer, but the Durango had its nose ahead right from kickdown and managed to keep it that way till the finish line
