This 2004 Ford Shelby Cobra Concept Could Be Worth Millions

This one off Concept from Ford will be auctioned at Monterey, and it’s very special

This one-off Shelby Cobra Concept is all set to go under the hammer at Mecum's Monterey auction in August

This rare example was a collaboration between Carroll Shelby and Ford in 2003

The car was revealed to the public at the 2004, Detroit Auto Show

Unlike some concept cars, this particular vehicle has fully functioning engine and running gear

The concept was created to gauge public reaction, and the new Shelby Cobra was slated for production in 2007.

Project Daisy as it was internally known by Ford was eventually scrapped due to the 2008 Financial Crisis

The design draws inspiration from the 427 AC Cobra from the 60s

Under the hood lies an experimental Ford 6.4 liter V-10 that makes 605 hp and 500 lb.ft of torque

That beast of an engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission

The bespoke interior has been specially handcrafted for this concept car, complete with custom dials and gauges

The car was extensively driven by Carroll Shelby at the Irwindale Speedway. He was closely involved in the development of the car.

Chris Theodore a Ford VP at the time of the Shelby Cobra's conception, bought the car in 2017

The car has since then undergone a refurbishment and is expected to fetch north of a couple of million dollars at Monterey
