By now, we know that Ferrari is planning to join the performance SUV club, as it is a well-known fact that Ferrari is developing the Purrosangue - the first Ferrari SUV ever. It is believed that the design will be heavily influenced by the Ferrari Roma. However, Dejan Hristov – an avid graphic designer and evident car enthusiast – has shared his take on what a Ferrari SUV should look like. Meet the Ferrari Simoom, named after one of the most famous desert winds.
What the designer has done is ingenious.
The car looks like it has been shaped by the elements. We see a front end that's slightly reminiscent of the F-12 Berlinetta and 812 Superfast. } The side profile looks crisp and incorporates luscious forms, especially around the wheel arches. At the rear, we get what we assume is the rear hatch, shaped like the SF90 engine cover. The taillights are heavily inspired by those of the Roma.
Despite the high clearance, the design suggests plenty of performance – just like it should be in a Ferrari.
Dejan Hristov has definitely given us a completely new take on what a Ferrari SUV should look like. Frankly, although the Purrosangue renderings look good in their own right, we think Dejan’s vision is truer to the original Ferrari philosophy. It’s less sedated and more wild and unapologetic. The Simoom is more flamboyant, more in your face, and this is what a Ferrari should be.
