Marcello Gandini needs no introduction. He has tens of models to his name and many of them have achieved legendary status. Now, three of his creations, namely the Lamborghini Jarama, the Lancia Stratos HF Stradale, and the Alfa-Romeo Montreal will be up for sale at an upcoming auction by Stratas Auctions. Collectively, they are expected to fetch north of $800,000.

1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal

Let’s talk about the Alfa Romeo Montreal first. The Italian automaker built this car from 1970 to 1977. The concept version debuted at the 1967 International and Universal Exposition in Montreal, Canada. It received a warm welcome at the Exposition and the attendees dubbed the 2+2 coupe as the Montreal. Three years later, Alfa Romeo launched the production-spec at the 1970 Geneva International Motor Show.

When looked at carefully, the Montreal does remind you of the Lamborghini Miura. Some of its striking aesthetic features include the retractable headlight cover, the quad-headlamp setup, and the NACA ducts. This particular example is finished in an Arancio orange shade and looks pretty sweet. If you think it looks a little too new for a five-decade-old car, well, that’s because it was restored in 2014.

On the inside, it features cream leather upholstery on a black interior. It comes with a polished wood three-spoke steering wheel, an extra-large instrument cluster, and an organized center console with a high-mounted, short-stick gear shifter.

The car is powered by a rather small V-8 engine that displaces 2.6 liters. It makes 200 horses and 173 pound-feet of twist. Power was routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed ZF manual gearbox. It even featured stuff like hydraulic disc brakes on all corners and an independent suspension setup.

The automaker built around 3,900 examples of the Alfa Romeo Montreal before retiring it in 1977. This example has 41,756 miles on the odo and Stratas expects it will fetch anywhere between $100,000 and $125,000.

1972 Lamborghini Jarama

The Lamborghini Jarama debuted at the 1970 Geneva International Show and was essentially a replacement of the Islero. It is named after the Jarama river in Spain that’s famous for breeding fighting bulls. The Italian automaker built only 328 examples of this car, 176 of which were the standard Jaramas and 152 were Jarama S. This particular example is the Jarama GT and is finished in a metallic green exterior shade. It rides on central-locking magnesium wheels.

The Jarama not only reeks of Gandini’s signature styling (the wedge-shape of the Countach, anybody?), but it also seems like a lovechild of two popular Lamborghini models – the Miura and the Espada. On the inside, it features a tan leather interior that looks to be in immaculate condition. The instrument cluster has a wood backdrop with circular gauges. Just like the Montreal, the Jarama also comes with a polished wood three-spoke steering wheel.

It came with a 3.9-liter V-12 engine that made 345 horses. You could have it with either a five-speed manual or a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox. This example comes with the manual transmission. The car also features a four-wheel independent suspension setup and Girling ventilated disc brakes.

This Jarama has 45,222 miles on the odo. Stratas has estimated this Jarama to fetch between $140,000 and $160,000.

1975 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale

Lancia may not be a household name, but it still has a strong footing in the history books. The Stratos, especially, can never be forgotten. The automaker introduced the Stratos HF (for your information, HF stands for High Fidelity) around half a century back and is took the racing world by storm. This sports car dominated the racing scene in the 70s and 80s.

As is with the other Gandini builds in this list, the Stratos HF also features a wedge shape. This example is finished in Azzuro Blue exterior shade and comes with pop-up headlights. Lancia has outfitted it with a black velvet interior. To complement the exterior, it comes with blue carpeting.

The Stratos HF Stradale is powered by a 2.4-liter, Dino V-6 engine that produces 195 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. This Ferrari-sourced engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that channels power to the rear wheels. Lancia made only 492 of these.

This example has 18,898 miles on the odo. It is estimated to fetch between $500,000 and $550,000.

Stratas Auctions will host the digital collector car auction from September 8 to September 24. There will be many other cars up for sale at that time, like the 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, 2009 Dodge Viper ACR, 1996 Corvette Grand Sport, etc.
