Drag races between tuned cars are always exciting, and here is another one from the YouTube channel DragTimes. This race is between a tuned 992-gen Porsche 911 Turbo S and a stock Ferrari SF90 Stradale. What is interesting is that after being modified, the Turbo S has been put on the dyno for testing, which confirms that it puts out 840 horsepower to the wheels. So it is almost on par with the SF90 Stradale. But who will win over the standing quarter-mile?

Porsche 911 Turbo S (992 generation)

Launched in 2020, the 992 generation 911 Turbo S carries the same theme of being fast and dynamic as its ancestors. But, most importantly, it does deliver extensively in drag races because of all the Porsche goodies, like the eight-speed PDK gearbox, AWD system, and the beast of a 3.8-liter engine. This engine is twin-turbocharged, and it propels 640 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque through all four wheels from the factory. Now, the 911 Turbo S you are about to witness is a highly tuned version with an output of 840 horsepower at the wheels. This power was achieved via upgraded turbochargers and a full-system exhaust. So this 911 Turbo S, without the drivetrain loss, makes 965 horsepower at the crank! That said, the latest 911 Turbo S is priced at $207,000, and with the upgrades, you should be looking at $255,000, approximately.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale

Launched while celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Ferrari racing team, the SF90 Stradale is the most potent road car offered by Ferarri at the time. It is also the first plug-in hybrid by Ferrari, with 986 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. A 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 sits in the rear-middle of the car, with an electric motor in between the engine and the eight-speed transmission. In addition, two fully independent electric motors sit on the front axle to make the SF90 an AWD sports car. So with all of these combined, the SF90 remains an impeccably fast car on the road. This SF90 in the drag race is a stock car; if you want one, you will have to pay more than $500,000.

The drag race

This drag race was held at a proper drag strip for accurate results and was of three rounds. Out of the three races, the Porsche won two, while the Ferrari won just one race. This is because there are rules in drag strips, and jumping the start means disqualification. The first race was a clear win for the Ferrari with 9.6 seconds to the quarter-mile and a trap speed of 144.99 mph. The Porsche was not far behind and completed the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds, while a trap speed of 140.34 mph was recorded. In the second round, the Ferrari jumped the start, but the tuned 911 Turbo S won the third round. However, the drag race results display that the SF90 finished the race first, which was not true, and maybe there was some kind of glitch. Nevertheless, both the cars performed well. But we never thought of a Porsche taking down a Ferrari. So watch the video and let us know what went wrong in the last race.
