The folks at Carwow brought the Nissan GT-R Nismo to the drag strip to take on the Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid and the Audi RS6 Avant. The Germans are powered by a V-8 engine, while the Nissan comes with a V-6. But, the latter holds a massive weight advantage over its rivals and it is called the Godzilla for a reason. Do you think it can take on and take down the Volkswagen’s subsidiaries?

How Does The GT-R Hold Up Against The Panamera and The RS6 On Paper?

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-Hybrid is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8, and an electric motor. Together, they make 700 horses and 642 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Audi RS6 Avant also comes with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 mill that dishes out 600 ponies and 590 pound-feet of torque. The wagon is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with a torque converter and an all-wheel-drive system.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo, on the other hand, features a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V-6 engine that puts out 600 horses and 481 pound-feet of twist. Power is routed to all the wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

All three feature a launch control system. Coming to the weight of the vehicles, the Porsche is on the heavier side, thanks to the batteries, weighing in at 5,181 pounds. The Audi RS6 Avant weighs 4,575 pounds. The Nissan is the lightest of the lot, weighing just 3,847 pounds. This makes it over 1,300 pounds lighter than the Panamera.

The Matchup Between The GT-R And The Panamera Is Exciting!

The cars went through a drag race and a couple of rolling races in different settings before the brake test. In the drag race, the Audi RS6 couldn't hold a candle against the GT-R and the Panamera. We won’t spoil the result for this race here because it was unpredictable between the latter two till the very end.

Coming to the rolling races, the first one was from 50 mph in the standard, comfort-mode setting. The RS6 was quick to pick up from there, but it took the other two only a few seconds to get past it. The GT-R went past the Panamera, too, by the end, thus winning the round.

The second rolling race was in the sportiest settings but the result was no different. At the end of the mile mark, the top speed achieved by the Porsche and the Nissan was an identical 186 mph, and the Audi touched 176 mph. As for the brake test, it was won by the Panamera, followed by the RS6 and the GT-R Nismo.
