Dodge comes to the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show with a very interesting edition offered for both the Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. Its name is "Jailbreak" and if you are wondering why, the explanation is simple: the new edition will unlock a series of color combinations never offered before and will add new factory-custom options.

The new special edition is part of Dodge "Never Lift" campaign that will bring new models and initiatives over the next two years. It will go on sale in the late fourth quarter of 2021 and the price for the package was set at $995.

What makes the 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak special?

The most important thing is that the Jailbreak package also adds an extra 10 horsepower. If the base Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody is powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque, the Jailbreak models deliver a total of 807 horsepower. The increase was possible thanks to a revised powertrain calibration.

These include: seven options for seats, stripes, and wheels; six brake caliper color options; five exterior badging finishes; four choices each of steering wheels; seat belt colors and floor mats; and much more.

For example, the car you see in the pictures features a F8 Green exterior finish. It is combined with a cool Satin Chrome on the grille, fender and decklid badging. The car rides on 20-by-11-inch Warp Speed Satin Carbon wheels combined with brake calipers finished in Gunmetal Grey.

For the interior a few contrasting elements will do the job. The floor mats and the seat belts feature accents in Hammerhead Grey, the steering wheel is wrapped in high quality leather and features a white SRT logo.

Exclusive options for the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak:

- Hammerhead Grey Laguna leather seats

- Hammerhead Grey floor mat accents

- Hammerhead Grey, Sepia and Demonic Red seat belts

- Leather steering wheel and Alcantara steering wheel options, with white SRT logo

- Hood, roof and decklid vinyl stripes

- Brass Monkey, Satin Chrome and red exterior badging finish

- Black Nickel exhaust tip finish

- Blue and yellow brake calipers

- 20-by-11-inch Warp Speed Satin Carbon and lightweight Low Gloss Granite wheels

Fun fact: while there is nothing to write home about when it comes about the new Jailbrake package, it does come with some cool exclusive features and an extra 10 horsepower for a price of $995. Ford on the other hand, on its last Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition, is asking for a total of $12,140 for a special Blue paint and two painted stripes. No extra power.
