What makes the Radford Type 62-2 John Player Special so unique?

The new JPS is the third and final version of the Type 62-2 to be announced. It joins the previous Classic and 'Gold Leaf' versions - compared to which is more extreme. When put next to its siblings, you will notice that the Type 62-2 features a more aggressive design.

The livery it is wearing: John Player Special is one of the most famous and significant racing car liveries ever used on Formula 1 cars. Of course, picking this livery was not an accident. A Lotus Type 72D wearing the famous JPS livery, with Emerson Fittipaldi behind the wheels had five victories and championship victory during the 1972 Formula 1 season.

Just like with the two other versions, the new Type 62-2 JPS is powered by a 3.5-litre supercharged V-6 engine.

And, when put next to the other two, Classic and Gold Leaf versions, the results are impressive. While the Classic version delivers a total of 430 horsepower and the Gold Leaf version 500 horsepower, in the JPS version the final output was taken up to an even more impressive 600 horsepower.

Next to the upgraded engine, the JPS version also received larger 18-inch front and 19-inch Dymag carbon composite wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. New, AP Monobloc calipers and fully carbon-ceramic brake rotors were also installed.
