2022 Mercedes EQG Concept

Mercedes unveiled the EQG Concept, the near-production electric alter-ego of the G-Class SUV, at the 2021 IAA Show and it looks swell

Mercedes unveiled the G-Wagen electric alter-ego, the EQG, at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show in Munich

The EQG revealed is a near-production concept and retains the boxy demeanor of the SUV

Exterior Front:

It comes with round headlights, black panel grille, and an illuminated star logo up front

Exterior Side:

The EQG Concept rides on 22-inch polished aluminum wheels that seem to be aero-efficient

Exterior Rear:

Instead of the spare tire carrier at the rear, Mercedes has installed a lockable storage box that looks like a wallbox

Exterior Top:

The company has also equipped a flat roof rack finished in black with a white LED strip at the front and a red strip at the rear

Powertrain:

The SUV will be powered by four electric motors in total. The power outputs aren’t mentioned, but we expect them to be on par with the current AMG G63

Mechanicals:

It will also come with an off-road-capable chassis, an independent front suspension, and even a two-speed gearbox

Conclusion:

Since it’s a near-production concept, we speculate the production version to debut sometime next year and sales to begin the year after
