2022 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Porsche is hard at work on the more track-focused Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992)

The Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS is scheduled to arrive in 2022

Although it may be slightly delayed, recent footage suggest that the car is almost production-ready

The latest test car also reveals new door handles

The 992 GT3 RS will feature a more classic door-handle design, which would save weight

Possibly the most aggressive-looking road-legal 911

The air vents on top of the front fenders and the ones behind the front tires contribute to some serious downforce

The racecar-look is finished by the tall rear wing

Together with the rest of the aero bits, it generates some serious downforce

More power and less weight is to be expected

No official numbers have been revealed yet, but we expect at least 540 hp and around 100 lbs less weight

It may only be available with a PDK

Probably a good thing if you care about lap times, which is what the GT3 RS is meant for

No hybrid powertrain yet

The 911 will never go fully electric, but that doesn't cross out electrification. Fortunately, the 992 GT3 RS remains true to its roots

The GT3 RS is expected to cost around $50,000 more than the standard GT3

We predict a starting price of around $195,000

The most track-ready 911 GT3 ever made?

The 992 GT3 RS is still naturally aspirated, non-hybrid, and boasts the most aggressive aero of any road-going 911 ever made
