2022 Porsche Macan

Porsche’s baby SUV receives yet another nip and tuck, and the GTS is now the range-topping model

The Porsche Macan has been on the market since 2014. That is close to seven years

Following a revamp in 2018, Porsche has reworked the Macan once again to make it ready for life alongside an all-new EV variant that will shortly join it

This facelift is hard to distinguish, as is typical of Porsche design.

The front apron grille is now more sporty, with two vertical fins in body color, and the headlights feature new graphics.

The tailpipes on the Macan are housed in a huge diffuser, similar to that found on the Taycan Cross Turismo

There are also three new colors to choose from

along with seven new wheel designs

The range-topping GTS is differentiated from the standard models will black highlights, body-colored trim pieces

and distinctive 21-inch wheels, sportier tires, and painted brake callipers

Porsche at long last has finally spurred up the Macan’s aging cabin by decluttering the center console, bringing the Macan in line with the rest of Porsche's lineup

The GTS adds 18-way adjustable sports seats as well. Cargo volume remains unchanged to the outgoing model

However, the main changes on this Macan have taken place under the skin

The predecessor’s Turbo variant is gone, the updated Macan GTS instead sits at the top of the range

although this new GTS pack the same power as the outgoing turbo

The new Macan GTS has the same 440 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. The same unit is used on the Macan S, detuned to produce 380 hp

The base model’s four-cylinder engine has been completely redesigned and it produces 245 hp & 295 lb-ft of torque

Even the base model is no slouch and gets to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds

All Macans come with Porsche's legendary PDK dual clutch gearbox

and standard All Wheel Drive with Porsche Traction Management

Porsche is extending the lifecycle of the Macan for a few more years with a new EV in the works

The entry-level Macan costs $54,900 whereas the S costs $65,400, and the sportier GTS will come in at $79,900

It is expected to arrive in early 2022 and the Macan S & GTS should be available by Spring 2022
