2022 Porsche Macan S

This mid-level performance crossover is the perfect blend of performance and luxury

For 2022, the front and rear bumpers have been slightly redesigned. The Macan S has a wider intake grille and side vents. Porsche's traditional LED headlights come standard and are unchanged from the previous model year.

The rear gets the Macan S badging at the center just below the LED taillight strip which runs edge-to-edge. The Macan S gets quad-exhaust pipes and they surely contribute to its sporty rear end.

Gone is the single-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 now replaced by the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 engine from the GTS. Power is up by 27 horsepower and 29 pound-feet from the previous engine. A seven-speed PDK and AWD come fitted standard.

The EPA ratings are not out yet but the new Macan S should return at least 17 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined.

The handling prowess is the main attraction of the Macan S. The adaptive suspension comes fitted as standard and helps while pushing your limits around a race track or some spirited driving around corners.

Not the techy cabin experience, I would say, but the level of luxury is just too good. Soft-touch materials, genuine and faux leather, aluminum, and even carbon fiber can be had if you pay extra.

The analog clock and the 10.9-inch touchscreen carry over from the outgoing model year. The haptic-touch buttons are new for the 2022 model year.
