2022 Volvo C40 Recharge - The Swedish Automaker's Crossover With A Sloping Roofline

The C40 Recharge is a sloping roofline-version of the XC40 Recharge and comes with impressive specs, but a poor 210-mile range and a $59,000-price tag

Volvo announced the C40 Recharge for the U.S. market earlier this year. It is essentially a crossover version of the XC40

It comes with a sloping roofline at the rear, something which seems to be quite a hit in the States

Volvo will offer the C40 Recharge in only one trim - Ultimate

It features the signature Thor-hammer LEDs and Pixel LED headlights

Despite the steep rake, the ‘Christmas’ lights are retained for the strong Scandinavian vibes

The Volvo C40 Recharge rides on unique 20-inch wheels

It comes with an oversized Panoramic Moonroof

The cabin is largely similar to the XC40 Recharge. The automaker says it’s the first Volvo with a leather-free interior

The touchscreen runs on Google Android-based infotainment system

Other features include a 360-degree Surround View Camera, Harman Kardon Premium Sound, Pilot Assist, etc.

The C40 Recharge will be offered with a dual-motor setup – one motor mounted on each axle. They make 402 horses combined

The all-wheel-drive setup propels the crossover from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds

It comes with a 75 kWh battery pack that is good for 210 miles. It supports 150 kW fast charging and can ‘recuperate to 80-percent in 40 minutes

Volvo has priced the C40 Recharge at $58,750 before federal tax credits and state incentives

The automaker has collaborated with Electrify America to offer 250 kWh of complimentary charging for all 2022 EV models

The production of the C40 Recharge will begin in Ghent, Belgium this fall, and the customer deliveries Stateside will begin in the fourth-quarter of 2021
