Honda took the wraps off the Rebel 1100 in November 2020 intending to take on American cruiser giants like Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycles. Like its American competitors, the motorcycle was quick to gather attention from several custom bikemakers.

One such bike shop was Europe-based FCR Original, which prepared two custom Rebels - CMX Bobber and CMX Sport - and here we’ll deep dive into the details of the former.

Before getting into it, though, let us tell you that Honda has compiled the ten best custom Rebel builds for the 2022 Wheels & Waves bike festival, and both FCR builds are part of it. You can check out all ten bikes on Honda’s website.

Honda Rebel 1100 “CMX Bobber” By FCR Original

The intention for this project was to keep the Rebel flavor intact while giving the motorcycle a bobber-like persona, and that’s exactly what’s happened. While there are no changes to either the stock suspension or the swingarm outback, FCR lowered the front suspension by 25mm (1-inch) to give the bike a more slammed stance. Building on this, the team threw in an aluminum buckhorn handlebar and a perforated leather saddle to levitate the comfort.

Next, the team shifted focus to the bodywork. Starting with a chrome fender, the bikemaker gave the Rebel a 3D-printed fuel tank made of polyester and carbon fiber, along with a chopped rear fender. Complementing this was extra-chunky Bridgestone rubber wrapped on old-school wire-spoke wheels.

There are no major changes to the engine, and you only get a ceramic-coated two-into-one exhaust, mainly to bring things in line with the bobber flavor. Similarly, the feature list only gains miniature LED indicators, while the instrument cluster, headlight, and electronics package remain untouched. Finally, bringing everything together is a special livery comprising cyan highlights, blacked-out mechanicals, and silver accents.

Can You Buy It?

Whether this custom Rebel 1100 is on sale or will it ever be on sale is something FCR is yet to announce. What we do know, though, is that FCR would be happy to prepare something similar for you if you have a donor bike. In the meantime, make sure to check out the shop’s other custom builds on its website.
