The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 is a striking motorcycle as it is and rarely do we see any custom builds based on it. This, however, is one of those rare times.

Meet the ‘Yellow Arrow’ by Slovenia-based Gas & Retro customs which is a souped-up Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 with numerous bolt-on parts and a very special mechanical upgrade. More on the latter in a bit.

A Brawny Design

As the name suggests, this particular Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 comes wrapped in yellow body parts}, all of them custom-built by Gas & Retro.

One of the most enticing additions is the chunky yellow headlight mask with faux winglets and dynamic LED indicators on either side. While these winglets are unlikely to add any downforce, they surely add a special touch to the build.

Along with the headlight mask, Gas & Retro customs has also thrown in yellow radiator shrouds, seat cowl, belly pan, and even a custom mesh radiator guard, all of which make the naked bike quite brawny. }

And, for the final design touches, there’s a sprinkle of red, near and under the seat and on the aftermarket lever protectors, the fork caps, and the fork cartridge. After all, nothing speaks ‘sporty’ like the color red does it?

Upgraded Suspension & Brakes

Remember the ‘Special Upgrade’ we were talking about earlier? Well, it is the Vitpilen 701 Yellow Arrow’s suspension and brakes.

You see, Gas & Retro customs didn’t just want it to ‘look’ sporty but also feel that way while attacking corners. Consequently, the bikemaker has upgraded the front suspension to fully-adjustable Showa BFF forks, replacing the stock WP units.

And accompanying these high-end forks are equally high-end dual-disc brakes with Brembo M50 calipers and a Brembo RCS master cylinder. Wondering where they got these bits from? Well, a Kawasaki ZX-10R}.

Considering these components do a pretty good job on the ZX-10R, these would be a bit of an overkill for a bike which makes a lot less power. But, hey, we ain’t complaining!

Speaking of power, the engine remains unchanged for this build. So expect the bike to make 74 horsepower, courtesy of its 692cc, single-cylinder engine.

Pricing & Availability

Gas & Retro customs hasn’t set a price on the Vitpilen 701 ‘Yellow Arrow’. But the company says the bike is on sale and is open to offers by interested customers.

Meanwhile, if you already have a Vitpilen 701 and want it to look like this one, the company sells most of these parts separately, with prices starting at around 778 USD for the headlight mask and indicators.
