Over the years, the Suzuki Hayabusa has become one of the most popular motorcycles to pop a turbo or supercharger and an extended swingarm to create a blistering fast drag bike.
And this is exactly what UK-based supercharger specialist TTS Performance did by popping in a supercharger on a second-gen Hayabusa, which puts out a bonkers 401 horsepower!
While this is a dyno-tested figure, the folks at 44Teeth wanted to test it out in the real world, so they did what any person would do with a bike like this - take it on an airstrip. But they didn’t stop there and brought along an all-new third-gen Hayabusa to do some drag races.

The Contenders
The first contender here is, as I mentioned above, a supercharged second-gen Hayabusa. With a supercharger, an intercooler, a 4-into-1 Akrapovic exhaust, and an extended swingarm, this particular ‘Busa puts out upwards of 401 horsepower and 190 pound-feet.
On the outside, the bike retains its stock bodywork (including the lights and gauges) and looks quite normal.
The second contender in this race is the latest 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa. For 2021, Suzuki updated the Hayabusa with new bodywork, an updated engine (with less but more usable power), and a lot of electronics including launch control, which came quite handy here.
Considering the stock 2021 Hayabusa makes 188 horsepower, this isn’t by any means a fair drag race, but hey, we’re not complaining one bit.

In the initial part of the video, both riders do a couple of test runs on their respective bikes, mainly to get a feel of the track and the conditions.

During one of the runs, the riders also did a test drag race. In this run, the 2021 Hayabusa, with its crisp launch control system, edges ahead of the supercharged Hayabusa. However, as you (and I) would expect, the latter flies past and keeps on gapping the stock bike till the very end. And this is exactly what keeps on happening again and again in the next few runs.
After a few runs, though, the supercharged Hayabusa is set at a higher setting for its launch control and then a final run takes place between the two.
Courtesy of the more aggressive launch control, the supercharged Hayabusa records a mind-boggling 9.47-second quarter-mile at a top speed of 159.8mph. Meanwhile, the stock third-gen Hayabusa manages an impressive 10.22-second quarter-mile at a top speed of 141.7mph.
To put things into perspective, the exotic 1000+ horsepower Bugatti Chiron takes 9.6-seconds to cover a quarter-mile.

Now, bikes like the supercharged Suzuki Hayabusa are, of course, not your ideal road bikes and I won't recommend one for road use. However, if you like going stupidly fast and want something similar, head to TTS Performance’s website and hit them up, so the folks can create a dedicated supercharger kit for your motorcycle.
