Some automakers have made a habit out of creating creative trims and special edition options because they know their audience will swoon over them. Brands like Nissan will make limited editions to celebrate Star Wars while Porsche often celebrates its own heritage with special models. However, the one brand best known for their creativity with limited edition models is Volkswagen, which creates more limited edition models than some brands make standard vehicles. But when the opportunity to buy a limited edition Volkswagen that was never offered in U.S. come up, that is one worth paying attention to, and that's the story behind this unique VW Golf "Bon Jovi" Edition.

Car auction website Cars And Bids has listed a Volkswagen Golf GLI Wagon Bon Jovi Edition, and it is definitely a unique car for the VW collector. The Bon Jovi Edition was only sold in Japan, and only 1,000 wagons were ever made (with 300 Cabrios built, too). The GLI Bon Jovi edition received more features from the factory than any other Golf of the time, a unique keychain, a Bon Jovi CD, unique decals, and other various add-ons to make it stand out from other models. The Bon Jovi Edition was designed to commemorate Volkswagen’s involvement in Bon Jovi’s Europe and Japan tour.

As rare as the Bon Jovi Edition is, this one has made its way to Alabama and has been tastefully upgraded and retrofitted with new pieces. The front of this Golf looks nearly stock save for the addition of Golf Mk4 headlights like the ones found on what is regarded as the best version of the Golf R32, which sit perfectly flush with the grille. The car is lowered on Bilstein B12 Cup suspension, and the nose is all tied together with an aftermarket body kit to make the Bon Jovi Edition sit even closer to the pavement. With these modifications, the front end of the Golf GLI Wagon looks even better than stock, giving off a serious tuner car vibe.

Around the rear, the car is a quintessential tuner car, fitted with a large Remus exhaust and Fifteen52 wheels that just slightly poke out from the body panels. With Volkswagen being no stranger to tuning cars well past their initial capabilities, this relatively calm build is definitely more show than go. The setup on this Bon Jovi Edition Golf GLI makes it an awesome everyday commuter, and the owner has made use of it as such, fitting it with better deflectors on the sunroof and tinted windows to better enjoy the car year round.

The interior of the Golf GLI Wagon is equal parts luxurious and sporty, which makes it a perfect all-around driver. This specific wagon was fitted with a Sony head unit and even keyless entry which makes it unique for the era. The factory-installed sport seats feature a very early-'90s design while the black and contrasting wood steering wheel adds a nice level of quality to the interior. The odometer shows only 100,000 miles which means this automatic JDM wagon still has a long life ahead of it. For the connoisseur of the unique, this Golf GLI Wagon Bon Jovi edition might be the perfect daily driver.
