Ever since its debut in 1999, the Suzuki Hayabusa has been one of the world’s fastest motorcycles. But even after 24 years of existence, it has never breached the 200-horsepower mark. In fact, if anything, it has slid further away from this figure in its latest iteration. There's still plenty of potential, though, and with the right updates, the Hayabusa can do much more than “just” 200 horsepower.

As a result, we’ve already seen UK’s TTS Performance whip up a 370-HP supercharged Hayabusa, and now, it’s America’s Moore Mafia who’s joined the club. The professional drag racer, with help from Virginia-based HTP Performance, has created an ultimate 2023 Hayabusa with over 370 horsepower!

The Turbocharged 2023 Suzuki Hayabusa Is Ripe With Performance Upgrades

As you’d expect, the spruced-up ‘Busa is loaded to the teeth with performance upgrades. The stock pistons, camshaft, piston rods, cylinder heads, and valve springs have all made way for higher-spec components, while a free-flow exhaust ensures an explicitly loud growl. Another noteworthy detail is the addition of a flex fuel sensor, which allows the ‘Busa to run on both conventional fuel and ethanol-mixed fuel.

The crown jewel, however, is a Garrett Motions G-Series turbocharger with a 40mm wastegate that pairs up with all the aforementioned bits, to pump out 372 horsepower on the dyno. For reference, this gen-3 Hayabusa gushed out 180 horsepower on the dyno with a Brock’s full system exhaust and aftermarket air filter. So that’s a near 200-horsepower - 192 ponies to be exact - gain over the relatively stock motorcycle and HTP Performance claims there’s even more performance in the Hayabusa’s tank. 400 horsepower, perhaps? Doesn’t seem impossible, to be honest.

Upgrades aside, the Hayabusa still displaces the same 1,340cc, just like the stock motorcycle, and transmits all the ponies via its OEM transmission. That says a lot about Suzuki’s engineering skills and reliability–something the Hayabusa has always been popular for. On top of this, HTP has neatly integrated all this into the stock bodywork, so the Busa still looks pretty normal from afar.

This Hayabusa Will Be Super Fast On A Drag Strip

As mentioned above, YouTuber Moore Mafia is a professional drag racer who has raced Suzukis all his life. And this turbocharged Hayabusa will also meet the same fate soon. Given the crazy performance figures, the rider’s skill, and other mods like the lowered suspension, we believe this turbo Hayabusa could break the 9-second quarter-mile barrier. After all, even a bone-stock Hayabusa records a low 10-second quarter-mile. In case it doesn’t, let’s not forget the motorcycle still has loads of stock parts, so there’s plenty room for it to go faster.

Finally, once all the testing is done, HTP Performance plans to introduce this turbo kit to all Suzuki Hayabusa owners. Price, final power output, necessary parts list, and everything else will follow soon, but we suggest you save for it right away because such extensive components rarely come cheap.
