One of those things is racing and pushing various cars to the limit.

By various cars, we're referring to what is now hundreds of vehicles available to steal or purchase, but what are the fastest cars in GTA V? Believe it or not, there aren't any cars that are truly fast by real-world standards, despite the fact that a lot of them are inspired by real-world cars like the Porsche 911 or the Volkswagen Beetle. However, we have an up-to-date list of the fastest cars you can drive in GTA V; some will probably surprise you.

As excitement about GTA VI builds, fans are busy scrambling to explore all facets of the super popular GTA V. We have come up with this list to aid those who want to drive the fastest cars in the game. As such, we've updated this article to include new entries to the list of fastest cars you can drive today.

Much of the information found below was gathered from data compiled from various gaming sites and sites like Hotcars. Moreover, some data was taken from interviews with gamers close to the authors of this list.

1 HSW Custom Cars

Top Speed: 168.5 MPH

HSW, also known as Hao's Special Works, is an in-game tuner that pushes standard GTA V cars to an all-new level. Thanks to HSW, the rest of the cars on this list are somewhat obsolete. While exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S (sorry PC Players), the Vigero ZX and Stirling GT take the crown as the fastest cars in Grand Theft Auto unless you can get your hands on the Itali Stinger TT, which after HSW upgrades, can reach a top speed of 168.50 MPH.

After being converted and upgraded, the Vigero ZX is capable of hitting 157 MPH, while the Stirling GT comes in at around 155 MPH. While this does make it almost impossible to win a race against anyone driving one of these custom cars, their mods can be disabled in races to help keep things fair.

2 BF Weevil Custom

Top Speed: 137.5 MPH

As you may suspect, the BF Weevil Custom starts out as the base level BF Weevil for $870,000 and then is customized at Benny's Original Motor Works. You should easily recognize the car's design because it was plucked straight out of the '60s when speed and power were the main things drivers were looking for in cars, and not just in games. The Volkswagen Beetle was not necessarily designed to be a monster on the roads, like the Chevy Chevelle SS, but once turned into a rat rod, the docile "Love Bug" could hold its own on any track.

The BF Weevil Custom can be stored at any of your garage locations once you own it and can be upgraded through Benny's once you have obtained the base model. If you do ever decide to sell the car, that is also a possibility that can be completed through Benny's Original Motor Works, but you will only get 60 percent of its value ($588,000), so unless you really need the extra cash in the game, it is suggested to just park it until you decide to take it for a spin again.

3 Ocelot Pariah

Top Speed: 136 MPH

Taking design cues from the Ferrari 812 Superfast and the Aston Martin V-12 Zagato, the Ocelot Pariah has been the fastest car in GTA V Online for quite some time, only recently being dethroned by the magic of Hao's Special Works. If you want to get your hands on one in the game, it too will come at a steep cost. You'll need to head over to Legendary Motorsport and pony up $1,420,000 for it, after which you'll be able to hit the road at speeds of up to 136 MPH or 218 km/h.

When driving the Ocelot Pariah, you will find that just like in real life, a sports car that is rear-wheel drive can be a little hard to handle until you get the hang of it, so go easy at first. That is unless you like to just go out and hit every pedestrian in sight until the police finally catch up to you. But then again, if you want that kind of excitement, grab a different car or two and park the Ocelot for the time being.

4 Grotti Itali RSX

Top Speed: 135.3 MPH

While the Grotti Itali RSX takes a name from the pride of Italy and Japan (RSX), it's clearly a digital remake of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. With a price tag of nearly $3.5 Million from Legendary Motorsport, you'd expect the Itali RSX to be Ferrari fast, but if that's what you're hoping for, you're in for disappointment. It's now the third-fastest car in GTA V that doesn't come from HSW, and it has a top speed of just 135 mph – a far sight from the real SF90's top speed of 211 mph.

The Grotti Itali RSX is another sports car designed to race through the streets of GTA V at speeds of over 100 MPH. The great thing about the RSX is that the vehicle is designed with an all-wheel drive system, which helps it grip through the corners, and when zipping in and out of traffic. Of course, it can only hold grip for as long as the driver maintains control, but having four tires to power the car helps a great deal when not wanting to keep a speed equal to the rest of the traffic.

5 Pfister 811

Top Speed: 132.5 MPH

The Pfister 811 looks like a weird mashup between a Porsche 911 and a Koenigsegg Regera, and with a top speed of 132.5 MPH or 213 km/h, it's the fourth fastest non-custom car in GTA V Online. It was added to the game way back in 2016 as part of the Further Adventures in Finance update, but to this day, it can only be purchased from Legendary Motorsport for the hefty sum of $1,135,000.

The Pfister 811 is classified in the game as an all-wheel drive supercar, and as such, it is a dominant car for long, straight stretches of open road. When it comes to handling around corners, however, it can be a handful to keep under control. Like the Porsche that it has been modeled after in real life, the 811 in-game is a hybrid car that uses an internal combustion engine and electric motors to gain better off-the-line launches and overall top-end performance.

6 Grotti Itali GTO Stinger TT

Top Speed: 132 MPH

The Grotti Itali GTO Stinger TT is not just your average sports car, but an armored car designed to take a beating and keep cruising. That is, a beating within reason of course. The Stinger TT can be turned into a remote-controlled vehicle, upgraded with armor plating, and a missile lock jammer can be added to prevent homing missiles from being able to lock on. This helps substantially when in the heat of battle because you can concentrate on driving rather than avoiding rockets.

The rear-wheel drive sports car has been reported by many players as being slow off the launch, but it has an excellent top-end speed once it gets going. Many gamers also claim that the car is a little bit hard to handle until you get used to it. Still, as with so many other high-powered cars in-game and in real life, every car will handle a little differently. The more you drive it, the better you will get at keeping it on the road.

7 Principe Deveste Eight

Top Speed: 131.75 MPH

Theoretically, we could place the Principe Deveste right on the top of this list as it can be customized by HSW and achieve a top speed of 151 mph. We've decided, however, to focus on its stock form, which means it's capable of hitting just 131.75 MPH or about 212 km/h. That's enough to make it the fifth fastest non-custom car on GTA V's list of fastest cars. However, it's nowhere near as fast as the Devel Sixteen that it's based on. If you want to get your hands on one in the game, you'll need to spend $1,795,000 at Legendary Motorsport.

The Dubai-based hypercar concept car copy has mediocre launch speed but excellent top-end power, so it is best suited for racing or scenarios where you must maintain high speeds for long distances. It is perfect for stunt races because it has decent handling and average traction controls. One benefit of the Principe Deveste Eight is that the car is heavy and can blast through other traffic without losing much speed.

8 Lampadati Corsita

Top Speed:131.3 MPH

The Lampadati Corsita is probably the closest that most will ever come to driving a Maserati MC20. The car is so similar, in fact, if you saw it in the real world, you'd be quick to call it one of those Chinese knock-off cars. Despite its ties to the greatest supercar that Maserati has produced since the MC12, the Lampadati Corsita is good for just 131 MPH or 211 km/h. It's also a lot more expensive than a real Maserati, with Legendary Motorsport asking $1,795,000 for it.

The Lampadati Corsita is a rear-wheel drive sports car with a bouncy suspension which, in terms of handling, means that it can lose some speed. It will also not handle as well, theoretically, anyway, because the car will not be as low to the ground. However, more bounce in the suspension is helpful when driving offroad or in areas where the roads are not smooth, so it all depends on the race's location and the track you plan to run on.

9 Overflod Entity MT

Top Speed: 131.25 MPH

Another rear-wheel drive supercar designed with a slightly bouncier suspension is the Overflod Entitiy MT. Even though it has been modeled after the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut that can blast all the way up to a top speed of 300 MPH, in the game, the copy cannot even manage half that speed. But, traveling 131 MPH in the game feels like you are flying, so imagining speeds matching real-life numbers are unimaginable.

The Overflod Entity MT may look fast and seem fast on paper, but once you get it on the street and try it out on PC, it just seems disappointing to most gamers. Looking through comments on Reddit, you can see that most that have used the supercar state that it is a little on the slow side of things and that when it comes to handling, it is hard to get used to.

10 Pegassi Torero XO

Top Speed:131 MPH

Enter the world of the digital knock-offs with the Pegassi Torero XO, which has a striking resemblance to the new Lamborghini Countach and an outrageous price tag of $2,890,000 – a price tag that might be justified if it was based on the original Countach, but that's a discussion for another time. It falls so low on the list of fastest cars in GTA 5 because it tops out at just 131 MPH or 210 km/h, though it will get you there really fast, so it does have that going for it.

The all-wheel drive supercar is powered by a massive V-12 engine, giving it plenty of top-end power. Due to the way the suspension is set up, along with the four drive tires and the seven-speed transmission, the Pegassi Torero XO can also launch with the best of them. Overall, the Torero XO is one of the game's best handling and performing supercars. They can even be pushed past the limits by experienced players that can keep the rear-end from sliding out from underneath the car when cornering hard.

11 Bravado Banshee 900R

Top Speed: 131 MPH

There are those out there who will say the Banshee 900 R is based on cars like the Mazda RX-7 and the Aston Martin DB9, but the truth is that it's really based on the Dodge Viper. While the Dodge Viper is an iconic American sports car with impressive performance, the Banshee 900R leaves a little more to be desired. Falling lower on the list of fastest cars in Grand Theft Auto, its top speed comes in at just 131 MPH or 210 km/h.

The good news is that it's not that expensive, with a price tag of $565,000 at Benny's Original Motor Works, after you buy the base model for a nominal fee. It is a supercar that has all the power and torque sent to the rear wheels, making it a fun car to drift around town in once you get the hang of keeping it on the road. Another great thing about the Bravado Banshee 900R is that you can acquire or transform your car into a full convertible top if you prefer the open air when driving.

12 Invetero Coquette D10

Top Speed:130 MPH

For all of you Chevy Corvette fans out there, we'd like to present the Invetero Coquete D10, a digital reimagining of the Chevy C8 Corvette Z06. In the real world, the C8 Corvette Z06 has an impressive top speed of 195 MPH, but you won't get that in GTA V. In fact, the Invetero Coquette D10 tops out at just 130 MPH or 209 km/h. Adding insult to injury, this car will set you back $1,510,000, or enough to buy more than 10 C8 Corvettes in the real world.

The Invetero Coquette D10 is a rear-wheel drive sports car that can accelerate quickly from a stop or while moving. It has reasonably good performance and handling at any speed, and when it does kick out on you, it is easy to get back under control. Plus, the car is built tough, so it can take a few hits before it even starts to show any damage.

13 Pfister Comet S2 Cabrio

Top Speed: 129 MPH

Clearly inspired by the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, the Pfister Comet S2 brings everything you'd expect from a real-world Porsche to the table. Well, that would be true if it was actually as fast as the Turbo S. Landing it near the bottom of this list is a top speed of just 129 MPH or 207.6 km/h. You'll have to pony up $1,797,000 to get your digital hands on one, which makes it eight times more expensive than the current 911 Turbo S Cabrio at $243,200.

Just like a real-life Porshe 911, the Pfister Comet S2 Cabrio is not the fastest car in the game by a long shot. Acceleration is slow for a sports car, but the vehicle excels through the corners because the grip is second to none. If you like to race on road tracks that wind through mountain roads and up and down through passes, this is a must-have car for you to have in your garage.

14 Benefactor LM87

Top Speed:128.5 MPH

If you don't recognize the silhouette of the Benefactor LM87, then you've missed out on seeing some very crazy things in the world of motorsports. The LM87 is a mashup between the Sauber Mercedes C9 and the Mercedes C11 race cars, and it comes with an appropriate price tag: $2,915,000. Unfortunately, this thing would be incapable of winning any races in the real world, as it's near the bottom of the list of fastest cars in GTA V, with a top speed of just 128.5 MPH or 207 km/h.

Even though the Benefactor LM87 is designed to be aerodynamic and fast on the racetrack, it has an older design that looks sleek and aggressive. It is a rear-wheel drive supercar designed for one person, so do not expect to pick up any hitchhikers in this car. It has lowered suspension for great handling around corners, but not so good for any offroad adventures.

15 Obey 10F Widebody

Top Speed: 128 MPH

The Obey 10F Widebody is a car in GTA 5 Online that you will have to acquire and then modify and upgrade through Benny's Motor Works. The upgrade does not take much of your hard-earned money in the game, but you will have to put up over a million and a half bucks to get the base-level model to start with. In the end, well worth the investment, though.

The rear-wheel drive sports car is driven by a large V-12 engine that supplies plenty of power and torque that is transferred to the ground through a seven-speed automatic transmission. It is designed with a lowered suspension system, an active spoiler, and a spoiler modification to increase the already present downforce benefits of the engineering design. Overall, the Obey 10F Widebody is a good handling and performing car with decent speed and power.

16 Overflod Entity XXR

Top Speed: 128 MPH

The aggressively styled rear-wheel drive Overflod Entity XXR is a supercar based on one of the fastest cars on the planet, the Koenigsegg One:1. However, in the game, the Entity XXR is far from the best even though it is a supercar that can blast from a stop to over 100 MPH before you can take a drink of whatever you have on the table beside you.

The problem with the Overflod Entity XXR is that the suspension is designed to be a little more bouncy than you would expect from a supercar, so handling may be hard to get used to. The benefit of this setup will become apparent as soon as you try to go onto a dirt road or end up on a side road that is not smooth and straight. A bouncy suspension system helps absorb imperfections in the street, which keeps the car on the road at high speeds.

17 Grotti Itali GTO

Top Speed: 127.75 MPH

Though not as quick as the real-life Ferrari 812 Superfast, the Grotti Italia GTO is many times more expensive than the Italian Autobahn maestro. However, in the GTA universe, the Italia GTO is as rapid as it is gorgeous. Though clearly inspired by the 812 Superfast, the Italia GTO looks more aggressive than its real-life counterpart.

Though it isn't the fastest sports car in GTA V, it is one of the fastest off the line. In about four seconds, you'll be traveling past 100 MPH and a short while later, you'll reach top speed. This trait is important when it comes to lap times, as acceleration off corners aids lap time more than top speed. Another advantage of owning the Grotto Italia is it has a wide range of external mods, from unique liveries to custom spoilers, hoods, wheels, mirrors, and more.

18 Grotti X80 Proto

Top Speed: 127.50 MPH

One of the best things about gaming is it brings to life the best of human imagination. One of the most striking designs by Adriano Raeli, the Ferrari F80 Concept was touted as the successor to the Ferrari LaFerrari. However, the F80 never went into production, with Ferrari instead releasing the SF90 Stradale, the most frugal sports car you can buy in 2024. In the GTA world, though, you can purchase and drive the F80 Concept under the name Grotti X80 Proto.

Wearing one of the most bonkers car exteriors ever imagined, the X80 Proto is perhaps the coolest car in the game. Though it lags behind a number of cars in the top speed metric, you shouldn't underestimate it. It accelerates like lightning, reaching its top speed in seconds, and has superb handling, which allows it to post rapid lap times.

19 Pegassi Toros

Top Speed: 127.50 MPH

Derived from the Lamborghini Urus sports ute, the Toros is an understated car that doesn't look as fast as it actually is. You shouldn't expect anything less than exhilirating speed, however, as the car that inspired the Toros was built by Lamborghini, a manufacturer famous for producing some of the fastest cars in the world. The Toros is by a considerable margin the fastest SUV in the game.

Details

In a straight line, the Toros can give the fastest cars in the game a fright. However, when it comes to braking and cornering, the Urus loses out to lighter and more nimble sports cars. Nevertheless, the Toros is an inexpensive (compared to other cars on this list) car to go for if you want to try out something goes as fast as a sports car but looks like a regular SUV.

20 Overflod Zeno

Top Speed: 127.50 MPH

Derived from the SSC Tuatara, one of the fastest American cars, the Overflod Zeno is one sexy car. Powered by V-8 engine funneling power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed transmission, the Zeno is quick. It can't hold a finger to the SSC Tuatara, which maxes out at 295 MPH. However, it can beat most cars in the game in a drag race.

The Zeno offers supreme traction off the line as it accelerates to its 127 MPH top speed. Despite having sticky tires and massive brakes, the Overflod Zeno has poor braking performance compared to other vehicles in its class. This poor braking performance affects lap time. You would expect better from a car that costs $3 million in GTA currency.
