The 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X Mixes Off-Road Prowress with 910 Pound-Feet of Torque
GMC is dominating the off-road truck market with the new 2500 HD All Terrain X
With gasoline prices fairly reasonable, it’s no surprise that we Americans began to flock back to larger SUVs and Crossovers. Joining models like the F-150 Raptor, Ram Power Wagon, and the Canyon and Sierra All-Terrain X cousins, is the new GMC Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X, and boy is it a doozy. As the third model in GM’s All Terrain X series, the 2500 HD All Terrain X can be had with either a 6.0-liter Gasoline mill or a 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel. That Duramax, by the way, pumps out a whopping 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of rock climbing, off-road awesomeness.

And with the new, available Duramax 6.6L, this truck more than matches its bold good looks with true professional-grade capability.”
Outside of the insane and segment-topping output afforded by the 2017 Sierra HD All Terrain X, it also comes with an awesome, customized appearance to give it that sinister off-road look that every truck guy loves these days. Staying true to the off-road market, the newest All Terrain X rides on, black-painted, 18-inch wheels wrapped in 275/65-series Duratrac MT-rated tires that have an aggressive tread layout. It also gets black exterior mirrors, body colored door handles and radiator grille surround, four-inch sport side steps, and a black sport bar in the rear. To complete its off-road look, the bed comes standard with a spray-on bed liner, and there’s a Z71 off-road suspension package to go with an underbody shield and an Eaton automatic locking rear differential.
Needless to say, this beast is ready to go off-road, or tear your ex-wife’s house down – you know, whichever you prefer.

Why it Matters
With the way American Consumers are flocking to SUVs and trucks, it’s no surprise that automakers are churning out vehicles that are truly ready to go off-road and get dirty. And now GM fans have something a little manlier than the Sierra and Canyon 1500 All Terrain X models to choose from. And, it’s not all about ruggedness either. This baby comes with a heated steering wheel, GMC IntelliLink infotainment system, a rear vision camera, leather-wrapped seats, wireless phone charging, and heated front seats.
In comparison to other models, the Ford F150 Raptor comes with a 3.5-liter, turbocharged V-6 that is estimated to deliver 450 horsepower and more than 434 pound-feet of torque while Ram’s Power Wagon boasts a HEMI V-8 that delivers 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Then there’s the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and its 5.7-liter V-8 that delivers 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of off-road power. GM’s Canyon All Terrain X and Sierra 1500 All Terrain X models are adequate competitors for the vehicles listed here with the Canyon offering 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet, and the Sierra offering 365 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. But, what does the GMC Sierra 2500 All Terrain X compete with? Nothing at all. With nearly 1,000 pound-feet of torque, the Sierra 2500 All Terrain X quite literally stands in a class all its own.
