Football is about as American as apple pie and the Ford F-150. At least that’s the mindset in Texas. So it comes as no surprise that Ford is building a limited edition Cowboys-branded F-150. Production is limited to 400 examples and it’s only sold at a select number of Texas dealerships.

The truck helps recognize Ford’s partnership with the Cowboys football program and the completion of the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas – a high-tech training facility for the Cowboys and athletes in the Frisco Independent School District. The facilities features practice fields and a multipurpose indoor stadium with seating for 12,000 fans. It will also serve as the corporate headquarters for the Cowboys franchise.

The idea of a Cowboys-themed F-150 isn’t new, however. Back in the mid-1990s, Ford launched a similar F-150 edition. “It has been 22 years since Ford and the Dallas Cowboys offered a Cowboys edition F-150,” says Greg Wood, Ford Dallas regional sales manager. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the opening of the Ford Center at The Star and the beginning of a new Cowboys season than to offer fans of both F-150 and the Dallas Cowboys the opportunity to purchase one of these incredible trucks.”

So without further ado, let’s have a look at the 2017 F-150 Cowboys edition.

What makes the Ford F-150 Dallas Cowboys Limited-Edition special

This special edition truck is based on the F-150 XLT with the Chrome Package. It comes painted in the Cowboys’ “helmet silver” and comes with several Cowboys logos. The front doors and tailgate feature the star badging. The badges read “Edition Powered By Ford.” The 20-inch wheels also come with the star badge on the center cap. The cargo bed even features the star, molded into a heavy-duty bed mat. Blue and white stripes run along the rocker panels for the finishing touch.

Inside, this truck gets laser-etched chrome foot plates at the front doors with the Cowboys word mark. There are also Cowboy edition logos stitched onto the front and rear floor mats. Lastly, a “### of 400” badge adorns the dash. The badge is also autographed by Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner, president, and general manager.

Ford is charging $41,925 for the pickup, which can only be found at a handful of Ford dealerships in Texas.
