As if the SVAutobiogrphay edition of the Range Rover->ke469 wasn’t special enough, Land Rover->ke46 today announced its partnership with the famed British shotgun maker Holland & Holland. The result is the most detailed, luxurious, and well-armed Range Rover to ever leave the Solihull, U.K. assembly plant.

Adding to the allure is Land Rover’s very limited production run, with the U.S. only allotted 30 examples. Of course, when supply is limited, prices rise. That might help explain the Range Rover’s whopping price tag of $244,500. That’s nearly $45,000 beyond the starting price of the “standard” Range Rover SVAutobiography.

Those 30 wealthy owners will enjoy the Range Rover’s added features, which include bespoke exterior and interior design elements, along with a leather-trimmed and lockable gun case, perfectly suited for two hand-crafted Holland & Holland firearms.

"The whole SVO team is very proud of this car, a bespoke design, which perfectly meets the very particular needs of Holland & Holland customers," said John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations. "This shows the huge potential of SVO, which encapsulates both off- and on-road performance as well as luxury and craftsmanship."

Despite the exorbitant price, this isn’t the most expensive Range Rover. In fact, just last year for the 2015 model year, Range Rover charged roughly $284,000 for – you guessed it – the Holland & Holland special edition Range Rover. Like the most modern iteration, the previous model offered nearly all the same features, though was based on the comparably less-ritzy Autobiography edition.

So without further ado, let’s check out what the 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography Holland & Holland Edition has in store.

What makes the Land Rover Range Rover Holland & Holland Edition special

This special edition is the latest brainchild of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division, just as the Range Rover SVAutobiography its based on. However, SVO takes things to the next level with plenty of custom touches that pay tribute to the legendary British firearm maker. First, the exterior is painted in a trim-exclusive paint – Holland & Holland’s signature green color. The front grille is also upgrades with a bespoke design and color, while that color extends to the door handles. Lastly Holland & Holland badges on the side vents and tailgate let everyone know exactly what model this is.

The outside might be beautiful, but the interior is stunningly gorgeous. Holland & Holland is known for its intricate engraving and detail work on its shotguns. That same craftsmanship is found inside the Range Rover. The dashboard is accented with real metal engraved in the same diamond pattern Holland & Holland uses on the fore end of its shotguns. The door handles are engraved in the acanthus scroll work that recalls the shotgun’s receiver. SVO also upgraded the wood trimmings to include a highly polished French Walnut veneer, cut from the same type of wood Holland & Holland uses for its stocks. The leather is also unique, dyed in a trim-exclusive espresso and tan color scheme. Unique floor mats, luggage area cover, and Holland & Holland illuminated tread plates at each of the four doors further separates this Range Rover from the crowd.

But the biggest change is held in the rear cargo area. A locking, leather-trimmed gun case with room for two long guns provides Holland & Holland enthusiast a place to store their rifles and shotguns.

Moving all this wood and metal is the same 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 that’s shared with the Range Rover SVR. It produces 40 horsepower and 41 pound-feet of torque more than the standard Range Rover’s version of the engine. That means the all-aluminum V-8 produces a healthy 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. The familiar, ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels via Range Rover’s AWD system. The Terrain Response2 system further provides traction aides via a driver-selectable dial that hones the computer systems for whatever terrain the vehicle is crossing. Modes include, normal, snow, sand, mud, and rock.

And yes, there’s the price. The 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography Holland & Holland edition carries a starting price of $244,500. Sales begin in the Spring of 2016 here in the U.S.
