Ever since Royal Enfield debuted its 650cc platform, many have been praying for a 650cc cruiser from the Classic 350-maker. And after an almost five-year wait, the Indian giant finally answered these prayers by debuting the Super Meteor 650 at last year’s EICMA. On paper, the new cruiser appears to be Royal Enfield’s most premium offering, and now, we also have reason to believe that it’ll be the costliest RE-badged offering in America. How much will it cost, you ask? Well, here’s a price analysis to give you an idea.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Will Cost 10-12 Percent More Than The INT650

Royal Enfield has revealed the European and British prices of the Super Meteor 650, which helps us paint a picture of the motorcycle’s American price. In Europe, the 650cc cruiser starts from 7,489 Euros and goes up to 7,989 Euros. The base price is 700 Euros more than the Interceptor 650’s base price of 6,789 Euros, meaning a 10.3 percent increment over the INT. Meanwhile, in Britain, the Super Meteor 650 begins from 6,799 GBP going up to 7,299 GBP. The base price is 760 GBP more than the Interceptor’s starting price, which equates to a 12.6 percent hike over the roadster.

Judging from this, we can deduce that the Super Meteor 650’s American MSRP will be around 10-12 percent more than the Interceptor's price. Since we know you hate math, this means the Super Meteor 650 will start from around $6,900 in America when it launches in a couple of months. While the price is not exactly cheap or uber-aggressive, it will help the cruiser slot right between its arch-rivals - the $6,449 Honda Rebel 500 and the $7,349 Kawasaki Vulcan S.

For the money, the Super Meteor 650 has plenty on offer. For starters, the cruiser is Royal Enfield’s most modern motorcycle yet, thanks to its Showa upside-down forks and LED headlight–both firsts for RE. In addition, you also get a two-pod instrument cluster as standard. One serves as a digi-analog readout for all motorcycle-related info, while the second one enables smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Oh, and there’s also a Touring variant that brings touring seats, a tall windscreen, and a pillion backrest.

Meanwhile, at the heart of all this lies the same trusted 648cc, parallel-twin engine that does duty on the Interceptor and Continental GT 650. Though the cruiser has a new exhaust and air intake, it still produces 46 horsepower, identical to the INT650. However, the engine will feel less lively here, as the cruiser weighs 241kg (531 pounds), 86 pounds more than the INT650. Considering all this, would you buy the Super Meteor 650 at around $6,900?
